The Number 1 Way to Avoid Paypal Scams
Defined Tag: Paypal Scams. If you use Paypal often to do online transactions or online shopping, you need to be aware of Paypal scams. You may have heard of the dangers of identity theft and people stealing your credit card information from the time you spend watching the news unknowingly, but did you know that people can also drain your bank and credit card accounts through Paypal? This is the cruel fact. With the internet being so wide spread, it was only a matter of time before scammers, crooks and conmen would begin to take advantage of the naivety of those people who browse the World Wide Web to obtain illegal profits. Indeed, since Paypal is directly linked to your credit card and your bank account, a criminal could just easily access your Paypal account through one of the many methods of Paypal scams and steal all of your money in a split second. So if you do not want to fall victim to any of the current Paypal scams, now is the time to pay attention. Paypal scams have actually been quite prevalent for quite some time already. It has not been that obvious until recently that they have begun to increase in magnitude on the internet with more people making online transaction and online shopping. There will probably be even more such scams in the near future as more and more people use the internet. One of the classic Paypal scams involves using fake emails that have been sent by someone who claimed to be from companies like either eBay or from Paypal itself. A gullible person would possibly then unknowingly send all of their sensitive information to the scam artist as told in the email and would suddenly realize that they had lost everything before they realized they are being scammed. Hence, you should always make sure that you know exactly where your emails are coming from and who is sending it if you want to avoid Paypal scams. Even more recently, scams have evolved into one that involved one using the automated payment function of Paypal itself. For instance, when paying for something, most people would simply click “yes” “yes” “yes” and then think they are done. However, with Paypal scams, one of those pages that most people simply skip over may states that the person you are paying to has signed you up for automated payments. And if you do not read about these automated payment programs, then Paypal scam artists can just easily slip in some information where they will be able to automatically withdraw large amount of money from your account on a daily basis and sending you to the poorhouse in no time if you are not careful. That is pretty scary right? Another classic example of Paypal scams is when you visit the Paypal website, but unknowingly enters a wrong website that has a URL similar to Paypal. The entire website may look exactly like the official website, but it is definitely a scam if the URL is not www.paypal.com and one may be tricked to enter username and password which will then fall into the hands of scammers. So, as you embark into the world of internet transaction and internet marketing, you should always be on the alert to look out for scammers. One small slip of the mind and you might just fall into scams such as Paypal scam.
