If you visit various forums frequently, then you need to be aware of forum scams. Many people on the internet are using forums for meeting people with the same interest as they have. The topic might have nothing to do with running an online business, but the same rules seem to apply to forums. Regardless of whether they are business related or niche related, people can get cheated by scammers lurking in forums.

There are just people who will come onto a forum with no other purpose but only to scam people. These people will want your money, and they will have lots of ruthless and different ways to try and get it from you. Forum scams are scams that happen behind the scene. Some are very subtle. They first become members of a forum and then gain the trust of other members. After some time they will suddenly announce they have some financial problem and lots of people will suddenly give money to them out of trust and compassion.

Of course, you have to remember not to think that just because one person did this, it label everyone as scammers on the forum. It is not true. It does not mean that when a member who is known says they have a need that they are going to scam you. Wisdom is needed to judge the situation and you need to understand people over time before you understand whether any hidden motive they have or not.

People who run forum scams always have a hidden motive, and one sign that they are scammer is their story changes and becomes more of a sorry state. You will also have people who try and act as though they know everything about the subject on the forum. They are always trying to ask questions which make you think they are highly knowledgeable. However, they never answer their own questions in the end. They only try and get you to believe everything they say, but their hidden agenda is one of getting money from you.

Forum scams are very subtle. Scammers will always try and sell you a product but would not tell you anything about it as they know if they did you would not buy it in the end. The fact that you trust them, hence they would sell you something that wasn’t a proper product, as simple they just want the money.

Scams on the internet are becoming more and more difficult at times to spot. They are being carried out at times by people who you thought were your friends. Many classic scams which come through email are easy to spot however, especially when you are told there is a problem with your bank account, where you don’t even have an account with that bank. So always avoid these kinds of scams.

Lastly, always be careful when you go onto a forum. Fortunately, the majority of people on forums are wonderful people who will relate to you especially if you want help about running your business. But there will be a very small minority who are after your money, and they will do anything over however long a period to get what they want. So be alert about forum scams and you will be able to keep your money from being cheated.
